Mersen is investing on every front, with the aim of deriving one-third of its sales from this market by 2012:
• Conventional energy sources - Approved by the principal manufacturers of turbo-generators, our fusegear has established our leadership in equipment for thermal power plants.
• Wind - Our multiple solutions, encompassing signal transmission, brushes and brushholders, fuses and coolers, have enabled us to become a leading supplier to the wind energy segment, in both the original-equipment and replacement markets.
• Solar - Our pure HCL turn-key systems are used to produce trichlorosilane (TCS) a key component for the manufacture of polysilicon. Our ultra-pure graphite equipment enables manufacturers of polysilicon, the principal component in photovoltaic panels, to increase their efficiency while cutting their costs. By helping to unlock competitive gains, we are playing a key role in the development of this industry.
• Nuclear - Since it boasts expertise in the procedures and regulations specific to this form of alternative energy, Mersen has established itself in the design of advanced technology equipment used in auxiliary reactor circuits.
