MERSEN: CARBON BRUSH LEADING MANUFACTURER

Carbon brushes are devices that transfer electrical current in motors and electric generators.

  • Grounding device brushes
  • Generator (wind mills, CG626 grades), turbogenerator (LFC 554 grades) and alternator carbon brushes
  • Carbon brushes for DC motor (EG34D grades) in process equipment: traction motors, lifting, rolling mills, winders…
  • Metal graphite brushes suited to asynchronous motors used in paper and cement plants
  • Carbographitic and bakelite-graphite brushes for FHP motors
  • Graphite brush for current and signal transmission: pitch motor, Ward Leonard group, annealers...

Made with artificial graphite, an excellent electrical conductor, carbon brushes transmit the electricity from a fixed part to a mobile part. They are to be held by a brush-holder in order to be continuously in contact with the collector or the rings.

Carbon brushes are used in machines that run on a motor or electric generator in various fields:

  • Energy
  • Transportation
  • Process Industries
  • Other markets
