25kA - 25mm TPMOV (Thermally Protected MOV)
Mersen’s TPMOV technology eliminates common failure
modes that occur in the field with standard metal oxide varistors.
Internally each component is comprised of a voltage clamping device and
a disconnecting apparatus that monitors the status of the metal oxide
disc making the TPMOV surge suppression component a fail-safe device. Upon failure the TPMOV surge suppression component is
also equipped with a visual pin indicator as well as a normally open
micro-switch providing remote indication, if applicable. Mersen’s
25TPMOV series surge suppression component is rated for 25kA - 8/20μs peak surge current and is
available for maximum continuous operating voltages (MCOV) from
150V to 320VAC.

Surge-Trap® PCB Socket
PCB Socket is the series of socket bases that allow for integration of Mersen’s pluggable IEC surge protection cartridges directly on printed circuit boards. Those surge cartridges will be easily replaceable upon reaching their end of life. SB PCB is an optimal solution for the industry of power electronics: inverters, converters, control panels for railway, PV combiner boxes, machines, OEM equipment, etc. Key benefits are cost efficiency, space efficiency, no wiring and optimal voltage protection of sensitive electronics. Integration of surge protection on PCBs is often planned for at an early stage of development of the system. The surge sockets will be firmly fixed to the PCB during the wave soldering process. They’ll host the entire range of IEC surge protection cartridges AC & DC, T2 & T1.
