SINTACLOR Eco&Flex for the Chlor-Alkali Market

The need

In most chlor-alkali processes, the chlorine and hydrogen by-products of the NaCl and Water electrolysis can be burnt together to produce an HCl acid solution through very exothermic absorption. 
One of the key producers of chor-alkali in India decided to replace their old HCl Synthesis Units by a process technology solution that can produce both HCl solution and HCl gas.

Mersen solution

The Sintaclor® Eco&Flex is the latest generation of Mersen HCl Synthesis Unit. The new design provides flexibility by producing either liquid HCl or gaseous HCl, or both at the same time. In addition, the new design allows a water consumption reduction of 65% compared to a first-generation unit.

Last but not least, the modules of Sintaclor Eco&Flex can be plugged onto existing old units.

Mersen Sintaclor® Eco & Flex features include the following:

• Production flexibility with a selection of end-products: HCl liquid, HCL Gas or both at the same time
• Heat recovery with a recover of 800 KWH per ton of burned chlorine
• Less water consumption with a reduction by 65% of water consumption
• Full range of production capacity with a perfect integration in the process (5% turn-down ratio)
