Mersen has a fantastic opportunity to join our maintenance team at our busy manufacturing plant.
Role purpose
To support the site engineering manager. As engineering team lead you will be responsible for all the maintenance of all the plants assets and facilitates.
Key accountabilities:
Engineering Maintenance
Embed H&S culture of zero tolerance ensuring the policy is fully understood, owned and implemented by every individual – ensuring appropriate risk assessments are in place prior to activities.
Promote the use of near miss and hazard reporting– ensuring appropriate feedback and recognition to operators
Implement the actions identified through internal and external audits (including health & safety and quality inspections) and ensure they are completed in a timely manner
Create an open and honest culture of communications within the engineering teams, always aligned to our core values
Deliver optimum results by creating a can-do attitude through motivating and encouraging employees - Highlighting any training gaps
Organize the maintenance teams, in conjunction with the two engineering supervisors, to maximize the operational availability of the manufacturing equipment
Monitor and control the spend on engineering spares, overtime and external contractors
Produce reports highlighting the performance of the maintenance teams
Liaise with the Project Engineering manager to assist in the implementation of capital projects
Monitor team KPI data and make improvements where required
Manage the distribution and effectiveness of workload and tasks to ensure the in ternal customer demands are met.
Control contractors and subcontractor ensuring high standards are met and value for money is achieved.
Facilities Maintenance
Ensure that the building facilities are kept in the most appropriate state of repair, in conjunction with the Engineering Manager
Ensure that the grounds and outdoor areas are kept to a high standard
Liaise with utility suppliers to ensure that scheduled inspections and statutory checks / company prescribed checks are completed on time
Personal Specification:
3- 5 years’ experience within similar role.
Undergraduate: Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or equivalent extensive experience.
This position is working 12 hour shifts 4 on 4 off 2days 2 nights (46% shift allowance)
